At PharmSci 360 2026, the AAPS brings together scientists from all over the world and players from the field of drug development.
Extruders in Mechanochemistry
The waste problem in the chemical industry requires new, environmentally friendly solutions. The combination of mechanochemistry with continuous extrusion represents a promising approach.
Flexible Pharmaceutical Extrusion Line for Melt and Wet Extrusion Processes
A complete pharmaceutical extrusion line designed for both melt extrusion and wet extrusion offers researchers and manufacturers a flexible platform for process development, granulation, cooling, and downstream handling. With precise feeding, temperature control, hygienic design, and GMP-ready documentation, the system supports efficient development of advanced pharmaceutical formulations.
Improving Plastic Depolymerization Research with a Split-Barrel Extruder and Recirculation Channel
A compact twin-screw extruder with a split barrel and integrated recirculation channel offers researchers greater control over material processing, melt homogenization, and experimental flexibility. Designed for research and development applications, this system allows materials to be processed repeatedly before final extrusion, making it especially useful for challenging plastic depolymerization and compounding workflows.
Special production: Production line for the manufacture of ceramic injection molded feedstocks.
A university research group initially sought a shear roll system for ceramic injection molding (CIM) feedstocks but, through a recommendation, discovered a twin-screw extruder as an alternative. Trials with the extruder demonstrated superior mixing, homogenization, and overall efficiency. Impressed by its performance, the team opted for a complete extrusion system, benefiting from automated material feeding, continuous processing, and easier maintenance. A lead researcher highlighted its versatility for research and development. The customized production line was successfully installed, streamlining CIM feedstock production and simplifying laboratory workflows.
Unique Manufacturing: Extrusion within an ATEX Setting
A research institute required an ATEX-certified extruder for incorporating particulate fillers into a polymer matrix under potentially explosive conditions. To meet stringent certification standards, a co-rotating twin-screw extruder was designed with a compact screw diameter, liquid temperature control, and advanced monitoring sensors. Paired with a flat-bottom feeder, the system ensures precise gravimetric feeding. It is operated via an Ethernet-connected computer located in a separate room, enhancing safety and efficiency. The production facility specializes in developing customized solutions for complex manufacturing challenges.
Highly Flexible and Accurate Production of Pharmaceutical Solid Dosages
Our modular multi-dosing system ensures precise dosing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and excipients, offering flexibility for both small-scale trials and large-scale production. With up to eight configurable dosing units, it handles diverse powder flow properties, ensuring accuracy and consistency. The system supports various processes, including mixing, granulation, and compression, with throughput capacities from 0.005 kg/h to 1,000 kg/h. Featuring gravimetric loss-in-weight feeding and pharmaceutical-grade construction, it allows easy cleaning and integration into different environments. Customers can conduct trials at our in-house test lab to optimize formulations, making it an essential tool for pharmaceutical solid dosage production.
